Let us invest through asset management
You can outsource the management of your assets to a professional party. We then speak of asset management. There are various forms of asset management. How do you have investments made through an asset manager?
The manager invests for you: collectively or personally
Asset management takes work off your hands. You don’t have to invest time and knowledge in investing yourself. If you don’t have that much capital, for example a few tens of thousands of euros, you can use collective asset management. You then actually enter with a number of other investors who want the same with their money as you do.
The asset manager draws up a risk profile to see which investment strategy is best for you. Your investments are not looked at individually, but the entire group of investors is managed as well as possible. The advantage is that the costs are low and that you still use the expertise and experience of specialists.
Do you have assets of more than five hundred thousand euros? Then investing in personal asset management may be worthwhile. This is more expensive, because an investment specialist will make decisions specifically for your assets.
In both cases, a risk profile is created in advance, on the basis of which the purchases and sales of investments take place. If you participate in a collective investment, usually digitally, the investment profile is also determined automatically. This is done using a questionnaire. Asset managers are required to submit this questionnaire annually, so that the risk profile always remains up to date.
Letting you invest: advantages and disadvantages
The advantage of having an investment manager invest is that it saves you a lot of work and time if you let an asset manager invest for you. For some, this is a disadvantage. If you like to have control and make your own decisions, asset management is not for you. Another advantage is that you do not need a great deal of knowledge of investing yourself, because an expert invests for you. You are also less likely to be influenced by emotions when it comes to events on the stock exchange. Of course, an asset manager does not work for nothing, so a disadvantage of asset management is the cost.
